My Story
For many years, I thought music was what I had to offer the world. It took me longer to understand that music had also been teaching me how to listen.
A life between languages
The paths that seemed separate were quietly teaching me the same thing.
Music, education, writing, creative work, and healing gradually became different forms of the same practice: staying close enough to life to hear what it is asking.
Urodziny is where those paths meet.
Between Countries
I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Poland.
From early on, my life unfolded between languages, cultures, and ways of belonging. Perhaps this is why I have always been drawn to what exists between clearly defined places: between sound and silence, thought and feeling, the person we have learned to be and the person still emerging.
Music became my first language for crossing those distances.
The Musician
For many years, I understood my path mainly through music.
I studied piano in Warsaw and later in the United States, completing a master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Iowa and receiving a scholarship to the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Practising, performing, and teaching showed me how to remain present inside a piece long enough for something beyond technique to appear.
The piano taught me that listening is active. It asks for attention, patience, courage, and a willingness to meet what cannot be hurried.
Creating Places
I have often found myself creating places where people can encounter one another more deeply.
For many years, I led educational projects for children, including musical work with visually impaired children in Vietnam. Later, I helped introduce Positive Discipline to families and educators in Poland.
At Chopin Salon in Warsaw, which I co-created and now serve as Artistic Director, music became part of a larger atmosphere: an intimate room, candlelight, conversation, poetry, and the particular presence that can arise when people gather closely around something beautiful.
I began to see that the places we create also create us.
Writing
Writing entered my life quietly.
My book Between Sound and Silence grew from the people, music, and moments I had witnessed at Chopin Salon. Its twenty-four portraits follow Chopin’s twenty-four Preludes, each one asking how another person’s presence may remain with us.
My later writing continues to explore the same territory: who we become through creation, relationship, attention, and the choices hidden inside our gifts.
Words became another form of listening.
The Listener
Over time, my work moved closer to the inner life.
Through Resonant Healing, the Gene Keys, Human Design, and years of accompanying people through questions and transitions, I found new languages for something music had already taught me: experience changes when it is met with enough presence.
I listen for the meaning beneath the first version of a story, for the values held within conflict, and for the life that may be trying to emerge through a difficult moment.
Each conversation begins with the person in front of me and with what is alive now.
Urodziny
Urodziny is the Polish word for birthdays.
For me, it also names the moments in which we come more fully into life.
This website brings together paths that once seemed separate: music, contemplation, Gene Keys, Resonant Healing, writing, and encounters with people whose work continues to illuminate our own.
They belong here because each offers another way of listening. Another way of recognising the life already taking shape within us.
Perhaps a life begins only once.
Becoming happens many times.
